Dear Friends,
We hope you have received and had an opportunity to read our summer newsletter.
The response to this summer season has been right on target and we appreciate all of you who have purchased tickets. Tickets were mailed in mid-June so please check to make sure your order is complete.
For those of you who have yet to order tickets, or want to order more, there are still great seats for most of the concerts and waiting lists for a few.
Directions to the venues at the Silver Centerfor the Arts at PSU in Plymouth and the Gilford Auditorium at GHS in Gilford are available on our website at www.nhmf.org. Feel free to call us and we will be of assistance to you in any way we can.
Henry Fogel’s article in the newsletter about the future direction of Festival summer
concerts has been very well received and as he mentioned, this first summeris a transition year. He knows that we will not have the complete dramatic impact that he and I believe is eventually possible. By next summer, it is our hope to be much closer. We will be choosing performers precisely for their approach to music-making, one that is centered on a collaborative approach and that is bound firmly with the emotional content of the music –then communicating that emotional content with as much impact as possible.
We have told our current orchestra members of our plans and any member who
would like to be a part of the future will be given every opportunity to demonstrate how they meet the criteria in a fair and equitable process that meets the highest
standards of integrity.
In closing, we want to thank all of you for staying true to the Festival. We especially
want to thank those of you who keep the Festival a priority with your philanthropic
giving. Without your generosity these performances would not be possible.
If you have questions please call David Graham at 603-279-3300.
Cordially,
David H. Graham President
