Rachel Braude
Is a member of the Boston Philharmonic, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Rhode Island Philharmonic and Portland Symphony Orchestra. She also performs with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston Ballet Orchestra, Portland Ballet Orchestra, Cantata Singers, Back Bay Chorale and Emmanuel Music. Rachel is a graduate of The Juilliard School (Preparatory Division), and New England Conservatory of Music where she studied with Julius Baker, Bradley Garner and Lois Schaefer. Her other principal teachers include Gerlayn Coticone and Trevor Wye. She was Associate Professor of Flute at Rhode Island College and has taught in the Extension Divisions of both the New England and Boston Conservatories of Music. Rachel has appeared in recital and as a soloist in the United States, Germany, Japan, France and England. She has been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Boston Globe, and Portland Press Herald and can frequently be heard in performance on radio stations across the east coast. She has recorded on the Chandos, Naxos and New World labels. Rachel lives in Boston with her husband, violinist Charles Dimmick.
